Chapter 20: New Kids On The Block, Part VI
*So, apparently page 7 was somehow uploaded without dialogue? I assure you, I wasn’t trying anything artsy, I’m just a fucking idiot. It’s fixed now.
This brings our arc to a close!
Definitely went over my target of 2-3 chapters, but honestly, I could have done more. I knew I’d come back to tell Sadie’s story, that there was more to her than the victim we saw before… but I didn’t realize how much more her character had to say!
I was never happy with her simply being a victim of a bad man, hopefully this gave her more agency, and made her a more interesting person in general. Also, Alice is, by far, my favorite Harlowe character to draw, I wish she’d gotten more screen time. Still, our three surviving characters aren’t leaving Harlowe any time soon, so hopefully we’ll be seeing more of them before long!
Still more work on the sci-fi project- trying to get a feel for this world, and how the people in it dress. My goal is Cassette Futurism meets European Feudalism, because I’m never happy with my work unless I can find a way to make it weird, apparently.
