Thanks to my friend Serena for suggesting this one, this conversation sent us down a rabbit hole for a WHILE, the hardest part was condensing it into four panels. As best we could figure it out, Judgement Day is unavoidable, somebody’s gonna make an AI and it’s GONNA turn on us (the franchise has laid this out pretty clearly in T3, Genisys, and Dark Fate) but time travel in this franchise seems to follow Back To The Future rules for everything BUT John’s conception, leading us to believe that in the original timeline, John is no relation to Kyle, and sending Kyle back is just spinning off dozens of alternate timelines without ever actually altering their own continuum.
