007: Backfire

I can't believe this comic wasn't about James Bond. A massive missed opportunity.

Wolfe really should have turned to face Newt sooner… oh well.

So, a lot of the commentary for these old strips will be me griping about mistakes I made four years ago. “So why not fix them?” Well, I thought about it, but I’ve spent most of my artistic life paralyzed by the idea that I’m not good enough, to the point that I never DID anything. These early comics, as flawed as they are, were my first structured attempt to get out of that hole.

Sure, I could fix everything that bugged me, but down that road, madness lies. I’d fix one thing, and discover something else that bugged me, and on, and on, and on. In the words of Adam Warren, my ethos has become ‘Embrace Imperfections’- I’ll never be a perfect artist, but I love what I do too much to let my flaws keep me from trying, and I’ll only get better if I keep trying, so you’ll just have to suffer through my mistakes.

Or just stop reading, I guess? I’m not the police of you. I promise the next commentary will be funnier, probably.
